Pupil association meetings: fresh raiment, renewed vitality

From the February 1994 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A vital continuity and progress is nurtured from year to year by associations of the pupils of authorized Christian Science teachers. This work might be compared to the tender, yearly gift of love from his mother to the prophet Samuel. See I Sam. 2:19

Not only did she dedicate her son to serve God in the temple, but each year she made him a new coat to fit his growth and brought it to him. Otherwise he might have outgrown his garment, or the coat might have become frayed.

One might say that through the By-Law in the Manual of The Mother Church regarding annual association meetings, Mary Baker Eddy provides class-taught students with the opportunity to receive a new garment of spiritual inspiration. It is a holy raiment of truth and love to ready them for the demands of the coming year.
