Testimonies of Healing

From the June 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For me it was very difficult to find a path to God—to the full understanding of what He really is, and of man as His son.

In my country there are several prominent religious denominations with very different interpretations of the Bible; however, they all see man as a mortal sinner. But this isn't what one learns in Christian Science, where man is seen to be the immortal, perfect, spiritual idea of God.

Because my parents belonged to a religion in which the Bible was talked about, from childhood I felt God's love for me and I grew up with that idea. But I was taught to interpret the Bible literally. Not being able to understand some passages, I began to study after my own fashion. In my school I was taught yet another religion, but I wasn't in agreement with its bylaws, nor did I obey them in my home because they involve ritualism. I can see now that divine Love was leading me to find Christian Science.
