Poems

I am as written

From the August 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am the script written:
the expression of what God is knowing, being.
I can never move off the page,
cease to exist, separate myself
from divine origin.
I can never divide the oneness of truth,
twist the meaning,
insert personal opinion, ambition, emphasis,

Lose the context,
dissolve or disassociate what He has put together.
The design and harmony of His universe remain intact.

I can never spill the ink,
distort or cover His body of knowledge, His understanding;
The author's view remains His, and known.

This knowledge, this understanding, is His work,
His very nature expressed as man;
unduplicated,
unalterable.

I am as written.
