Spirituality & Health magazine

From the December 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For the last five years, Spirituality & Health magazine has—in the words of its editor —been dedicated "to all who wish to dig deeper." As part of the Journal's exploration of how people and magazines are communicating with today's spiritual seekers, Journal staffer talked with Scott in his office at Trinity Place, near Wall Street in New York City.

How did Spirituality & Health get started?

1997 was the 300th anniversary of Trinity [Episcopal] Church, which is located here in New York City, as you know. The church was looking for something to do that would have an impact on society. Among the ideas was to create a magazine, and, in studying that prospect, we realized that there was this huge interest in spirituality. So Spirituality & Health was launched in the fall of 1998.
