FUNDAMENTALS ON THE LACROSSE FIELD OF LIFE

COACH SHERRY'S 6 FUNDAMENTALS:

From the March 2007 issue of The Christian Science Journal

COACH THERESA SHERRY brought new drills and an energized mental outlook to the UC Berkeley women's lacrosse team this year. The new drills came from her years playing lacrosse as a star center for Princeton University from 2000-2004. She helped the Princeton Tigers capture NCAA Championships in 2002 and 2003. Ms. Sherry and her co-coaches hope that these drills and can-do attitude will help turn the Berkeley lacrosse team from also-rans into champions. "I think if a team can master the fundamentals and consistently execute a game plan," Theresa told me in a recent phone call, "then they can compete with any team, regardless of whether or not the individual players match up well on paper."

Look behind the scenes, and you'll see a set of "drills" of a different sort that empower Coach Sherry's life on and off the lacrosse field. The following six "life-fundamentals" have helped Sherry as a player and as a coach. These same spiritually-based fundamentals can help anyone tap their unlimited potential.
