From the January 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

1. In this month's Deep Think, Christian Science practitioner and teacher Ron Ballard takes on the question that every thinker has wrestled with since the beginning of time: What is the nature of existence? According to Ron, a completely spiritual basis for understanding life is not really an alternative to traditional beliefs. Rather, a spiritual perspective causes a complete transformation in our thinking. Read his article "Christian Science—Not Just an Alternative." Page 26.

2. John Tyler began his career as a labor organizer and a counselor to prisoners, and went on to teach political science at Princeton University and the University of Pittsburgh. As a social activist, he realized that it was vital to understand and work within God's government of the universe—instead of just within human laws. This insight led to his current career as a Christian Science practitioner, teacher, and lecturer, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He draws on all these experiences in his article, "Life—Your Spiritual Autobiography." Page 40.

3. Born and raised in Tehran, lran, Marta Greenwood emigrated to London to study nursing and midwifery—and stayed on to marry a Brit and raise a family. Although Marta came from a Christian family in Iran, she discovered Christian Science in the UK. She became a Christian Science practitioner in 1996 and a teacher of Christian Science in 2006. Known everywhere for her beautifully upbeat demeanor, she writes about a subject she knows firsthand—discovering God as Life. Read her article "Your Inexhaustible Source." Page 43.
