I found Christian Science at a difficult moment of my life. I was feeling severe pain in my hip, and I was treated at the hospital for this condition for two months. The pain in my hip disappeared, but then both my legs were in pain. I could no longer move well, and, when walking, I had to stop, sit, and then get up to continue on my way.
One morning I told my sister that I did not know what to do to be healed, and that I did not want to take medicines any longer. My sister first suggested an herbal cure, but I insisted that I was looking for something other than a material remedy. So she told me, “Ah, there is a book that I was given some time ago that talks about that!” So she gave me Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. It was the first time I had ever seen that book, and I immediately started reading it. At first I did not understand much, but I persisted. I read and read.
A few days later, I asked one of my brothers to get me more information about Christian Science. While doing so, he learned about the Christian Science Society in Lomé, and that it was holding religious services.
