The star that still shines

There it was, that symbol of Truth
shining brightly above the darkness 
of worldly ignorance, fear, and sin.
That star was there for everyone to see—
yet how few were the followers who looked up
and continued on their search for its source.

Let us look up, look up—
away from the glitter and glamour of worldly pursuits
that miss the point and purpose of Christmas
and have us saying, “What star?”

Today, centuries later, that star still shines
for seekers of the Christ, Truth.
