Testimonies of Healing

Learning disability overcome

From the February 2017 issue of The Christian Science Journal

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6).

In the third grade I started a new school in the middle of the year because my family had moved. At the end of the year the teacher passed me, but with reservation, stating that I could not read or write—I reversed letters and numbers. I was labeled with a learning disability.

I found Christian Science in the seventh grade. My mother went to the hospital for surgery, and my aunt, who was a Christian Scientist, came to take care of us. With my mother’s permission, she took us to visit a Church of Christ, Scientist.
