At the urgent solicitation of a large number of friends, the President of the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, Mrs. Mary B. G. Eddy, consented to appear on the platform in Tremont Temple, March 16, before the Boston Monday lectureship, in a ten minutes' speech on certain misapprehended points of Christian Science. The applause which greeted our beloved teacher after the "impressive" introduction by the Rev. Joseph Cook, showed how warm a place she holds in the hearts of a grateful people; and her clear, comprehensive summary of the Gospel of Christian Science, condensed into the answers to five questions, was heartily endorsed by a larger number of the audience than was manifestly agreeable to the "Powers that be."
