Letters & Conversations

An Open Letter

From the August 1886 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My Dear Teacher: I wish to state, through the columns of the Journal, that the words and sentiments in my report of your Address, and Charge to the new church-members, on June 20, were in no sense mine, but yours.

The same is true of the Lecture before the Christian Scientist Association, July 7, reported by me.

This injustice to you was unintentional, and was the result of carelessness and misunderstanding on my part, since the first draft was sent to the July Journal by mistake.
