Dear Founder of Christian Science: I wish to give evidence of my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for my family, through the demonstration of Mrs. F. D. Snider of New York. A year ago my father fell from the toploft of the barn, striking his back on a beam in the fall. My sister (who bad been healed by Mrs. Harvey of Cincinnati, from inflammatory rheumatism in the arms,—suffering so much that they had to be carried in a sling) having all confidence in Christian Science, immediately wrote to Mrs. Snider about father's accident.
After the letter had been sent, we grew alarmed about him, and sent for a doctor, who left nothing but a lotion to be applied, saying that father would not be able to leave his bed for a month, and would probably be a constant sufferer from internal injuries. Our letter was received by Mrs. Snider the morning after the doctor called. That afternoon father rose suddenly from his bed, very much to our surprise, and walked across the room. Finding that did not hurt him, he remained up the rest of the day.
The next day he started for the village, three miles distant, to tell the doctor not to call again; and surprised that gentleman by meeting him on the way. He has been well ever since, feeling no inconvenience from his fall.
