It is about three years since I became interested in the study of Christian Science, having been led to investigate it on account of needed physical healing, and not knowing at that time that there was anything else about it except the healing of the body. I had been a member of an orthodox church for a number of years and was, as I thought, a true Christian. There were many things, however, which I could not understand or account for other than that God, being a just God, dealt out evil as well as good to His children, and that we must at all times submit to the inevitable,—that God's ways were higher than our ways and past finding out. I have learned since coming into Christian Science that as the sun gives light and no darkness exists where the sun shines, so God, omnipotent good, is all good and not evil, and that evil never was created and therefore has no power.
I was healed in Science in less than two weeks of an eye trouble for which I had worn glasses eleven years. I am obliged to use my eyes all day, but I read and study every evening without the slightest discomfort. My eyesight is perfectly normal, far better than it ever was. I was also healed very quickly of extreme nervousness, headaches, sleeplessness, and fear. While I am exceedingly thankful for the improved physical conditions, the fact that I have learned to understand God as ever-present Life far surpasses any bodily healing. I have found Christian Science to be indeed a practical and demonstrable religion, one that can be applied to the duties of every day, and whose Principle is as absolutely certain as the basic law of mathematics. I am striving each day to reflect this perfect Principle. —Cleveland, Ohio.
