Having shared the blessings which Christian Science is bringing to all who turn to it with an earnest and receptive heart, I should like to add my testimony of gratitude. I did not come to this Science for physical healing, but because I was impressed with the inspiring logic of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I felt that this blessed volume contained the answer to every earnest question concerning life and the universe. I felt also that it presented the infallible Science of good, a system of definite, practical rules for being, doing, and experiencing good, that would make happiness the present possession of all who willingly accepted and practiced these rules; and I saw that this happiness would be in the proportion that one made this divine Science the basis of his daily life. For the last nine or ten years I have relied solely on Christian Science for the solution of my various problems, and it has never failed.
Shortly after I became interested in Christian Science it appeared that I had contracted influenza. Although my condition was such that physical activity was the last thing I cared to think of, I summoned enough strength and courage to walk several blocks to the home of a practitioner, where I received my first Christian Science treatment. The remainder of the day was spent at home, and the next morning I returned to my work with still a little fever. On the morning of the fourth day after the appearance of the condition, every vestige of the difficulty had vanished. My gratitude for Christian Science was accentuated in contrasting this experience with the experiences of many who at this time resorted to medical help for the same condition, with the general consequence that they were confined to bed for at least two weeks. I lost only one day from work, during which time I was not confined to bed.
Ivy poisoning and jaundice were healed with the help of a practitioner. Through my own application of the truth an incipient boil was quickly banished from the back of the neck and never reached the stage of painfulness. The loving help of a friend resulted in the overcoming of a severe and persistent toothache, due, from the human viewpoint, to exposed nerves.
