Fourteen years ago I was stricken with a severe nervous breakdown. After everything had been done in a medical way, Christian Science was presented to me. The aid of a practitioner was enlisted and an earnest study made of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My healing came slowly, but I could feel that I was growing steadily better physically. Discouragement would present itself, and the way would seem dark at times, but I kept on trying to rejoice as I went along "with God at my right hand." I knew that the God of love, as taught in Christian Science, never leaves His children disconsolate, nor fails to hear a prayer uttered and expressed in faith. God did hear and answer; and I was healed of the discordant condition. I have since learned to be grateful for the slow healing, as it made me a better student.
Many discordant conditions have presented themselves since that time, but I have never failed to get the answer swer when I have relied wholly on God, according to Christian Science. During the war I was healed of influenza in one night. At another time I fell on my knees on a cement walk. The family thought I was seriously injured, as the accident was attended with intense suffering. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and within three hours I was about my work as usual. These are proofs of God's constant care.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a local church; for our Christian Science literature; for all the other Christian Science activities, including class instruction. My gratitude is inexpressible to God; to Christ Jesus for showing the way; and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for revealing the Christ, Truth, to the world again.— Hollywood, Florida.
