It gives me great pleasure to be privileged to express my gratitude and to give this testimony. For fifteen years I suffered from chest and heart disease, which forced me to struggle for breath for nights at a time, completely exhausting me by morning. I consulted many doctors, but none of them were able to heal me. They simply told me I must not do much work.
A friend told me about Christian Science. I accepted it immediately, for my suffering had prepared me for it. I studied "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, read Der Herold der Christian Science, and applied for help to a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly gave me treatment and explained to me the unreality of error, thus aiding my healing. I was healed of inflammation of the veins in a very short time, and was not confined to my bed at all. I learned that we must cling to the truth about God and His idea, and that this clinging leads to the consciousness of His presence.
For the many healings and blessings I have experienced in Christian Science I am sincerely grateful to God and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy; also to the dear practitioner who treated me.— Esslingen a/W, Germany.
