Testimonies of Healing

I wish to express my gratitude to...

From the October 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to express my gratitude to Christian Science for the healing of an injured hand, as well as for the many other healings which I have experienced in the past twelve years.

My entire right hand was crushed in a job printing press, the type on the form which was being printed cutting about a quarter of an inch into the flesh. As soon as my hand was freed from the press I called a Christian Science practitioner in another town and asked for help. The pain was so intense that it was necessary for me to lie down on the floor, but within ten minutes I was no longer conscious of pain. In less than an hour I was able to drive an automobile, although not using that hand, and to eat a meal in a public restaurant. That evening I went to my mother's home and remained two days under treatment. By the third day I was able to hold light objects in my fingers and on the fourth to write my name legibly, as well as flex my fingers. Within ten days I could use the typewriter with my accustomed speed. Practically every scar disappeared within a short time after the healing took place. The rapidity of the healing occasioned much comment from those in that community who are not Christian Scientists, many stating that they did not expect me to regain the use of my hand.

I am very grateful for this proof of healing because it resulted in a definite stand for Truth on the part of my father and my husband, neither of whom was a Christian Scientist.
