It is with a great sense of gratitude that I wish to give my testimony of blessings I have received in Christian Science. It was through the healing of a son that I first took up the reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At first I read it alone, but now my husband is studying and we read the Lesson-sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly together every day. There is no church here, as we live in a small village; but we have the Quarterly, and study the Lesson as directed. Our son was healed of a very severe case of stomach trouble. He told me that he had given up and had come home to die. A friend interested him in Christian Science, and now he is a big, strong man. We owe it all to Christian Science.
In May, 1930, I was taken with a high fever. A friend who called, begged to get a doctor, but I asked her to call a Christian Science practitioner instead. She very reluctantly did so. There was no great improvement for two days, and my eyes were swollen shut, but on the third day the swelling began to leave and I could get my eyes open. From then on the battle was won. My husband read the textbook to me as much as possible, and in a few days I was able to sit up; in a month I was doing my washing and the housework. The disease was pronounced erysipelas.
I have also been healed of sick headaches and constipation. I have not taken a dose of medicine in seventeen years. My heart goes out in love to Mrs. Eddy and to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower. I thank God for all the blessings that have come to me and mine and for the Christian Science literature. I feel I could not do without the Sentinel.
