MANIFESTATION

From the October 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE acknowledges as real only God and the manifold, infinite manifestation of divine Mind. The value of this acknowledgment is that it enables one to prove his own identity as God's likeness. Times without number sinful appetites, sickness, and other discords have been banished from thought and experience by holding to the truth about Mind and its manifestation.

Christian Science is teaching its students to abide by God's irreversible spiritual law of harmony, and so to awaken from the stupor of resignation to evil, due to acquiescence with the discordant evidence of the physical senses. It is impossible to reconcile scientific Christianity with the phenomena of material sense.

The metaphysics of Christian Science discloses the fallacy of self-deception and teaches one how to dissent from every appearance of discord; how to rise up in arms against the impositions of material sense and thus escape their influence. The individual Christian Scientist is proving what the spiritual acknowledgment of God, Spirit, as the perfect creator of perfect man can accomplish in the way of release from every phase of suffering and imperfection.
