Some years ago our eldest girl was troubled with tubercular glands. She was only five years old, but had been through three operations with only temporary results. One day my wife decided to try Christian Science, and with the help of a practitioner she took up its study. After a short time improvement could be seen, and in less than three months the trouble was all cleared up. It has never returned, and the girl is now a healthy, vigorous young lady.
At this same time I was troubled with neuritis; but being a doubting Thomas I would not give credit where credit was due, and went on with medical treatment for a couple of years, receiving only temporary relief. After considerable urging I finally agreed to give up this treatment and to give Christian Science a trial. With the help of a practitioner the difficulty was overcome, and it has never returned. I have also been healed of lack of employment, of quinsy sore throat and colds, and of various other complaints.
Even with all these blessings and proofs that God lovingly heals His children, as He did in Jesus' time, I did not begin to do my part until I spent a few weeks at the Sanatorium of The Christian Science Benevolent Association at Chestnut Hill. It was there that my eyes were opened to see the spiritual uplifting which the study of our Leader's writings gives us. I wish to express my gratitude for the love which Mary Baker Eddy had and gave to all mankind; also for all the activities of The Mother Church, and particularly for the loving service of all the officials and associates at the Sanatorium.— New Haven, Connecticut.
