Mrs. Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 472) that "God is to be understood, adored, and demonstrated." The understanding of God as both Father and Mother, tenderly caring for each idea, healed me of much fear, and resulted in the complete healing of stomach trouble and fear of food which I had experienced since childhood.
A skin trouble which lasted for three years, with only short periods of relief, has been permanently healed; through this trial I had help, from time to time, from a loving practitioner. This experience forced me to purify my desires, to turn from seeking material things and seek the qualities of Mind, God; and the effort to put into practice these beautiful qualities, a few of which are patience, tenderness, humility, taught me to adore Him.
I have also experienced harmonious childbirth, having been aided in making this demonstration by a practitioner and a Christian Science nurse; no physician was present. I was up the third day, and in a week took up the duties of my home.
