FIVE years ago I suffered during the entire winter with a disease of the legs. The knees and ankles had turned very red and were badly swollen. I suffered severe pain when I went upstairs and when I used the treadle of the sewing machine, and this hindered me in earning my living.
One day I went to see a friend who is a Christian Scientist. She noticed that I walked with difficulty and that my face was drawn with pain, so she advised me to have treatment. I asked my friend to help me and at once she did so most willingly. She instructed me in the fundamental truths of this Science, brought me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, referred me to many passages about our Master, and then took up treatment.
