Too often the world offers a gloomy scene—about our own well-being or that of others. In identifying who most experienced the depths of gloom, Christ Jesus would be a good candidate. And the Last Supper provided an occasion where that gloom tried to take permanent root in human history. But then there's what has been called "his last spiritual breakfast" that illustrates an unmatched joy.
Those two events—the supper and the breakfast—might be thought of as profound symbols. The supper as the night came on. The breakfast as the day was dawning. Individually and collectively we’re sometimes challenged with the gloom of the supper, and yet, there's a very real power that moves human experience into the glory of a spiritual breakfast.
When you feel pulled down by any kind of gloom about yourself or anyone, open your thought to the breakfast.
