A seed had been planted

From The Christian Science Journal - January 1, 2013

First appeared in the January 2013 issue of The Herald of Christian Science. Originally written in Spanish.

My high school years, from when I was 12 to 19 years old, were a dreadful period. My attitude was completely out of place. I would go from setting fires in the restrooms at school to constantly making fun of the teachers. My life was completely out of control.

Alcohol and tobacco were my constant companions. My parents tried to find a solution to my behavior, and I was sent from a public to a private school. But I started drinking alcohol excessively and getting drunk every weekend. I didn’t pass the exams that year, so I had to repeat the year and was sent back to public school.

I went back to my old friends and became acquainted with drugs. I did drugs with my friends on a daily basis as excessively as we drank alcohol.
