Whether it is given or received, pure, selfless, and sincere love blesses, protects, and heals because it is an expression of divine Love.
I continually remind myself: “It doesn’t matter whether love is unrequited or not; it doesn’t matter what others do, say, or think, if it is erroneous, it is nothing, because only love counts. Don’t allow anything or anyone who is mistaken or any erroneous circumstance to upset your nature, because you are an expression of Love. Don’t let the purity of the love you express be adulterated, stained, or disrupted by any circumstance.”
God, Life itself, as expressed in the example of people who had a good influence on my moral and spiritual education, taught me this. It is like seeing the purity of a gem that shines in spite of the mud that seems to surround it.
