Stilling storms

Many years ago, a group of friends and colleagues set out on a boat to cross over a large lake. After they set sail, the leader of the group took time off for a nap. He’d had a very busy day thus far, and he felt comfortable leaving his capable co-workers in charge of the boat.  

Not long into the journey, however, weather conditions began to change rapidly. Soon the travelers found themselves in the middle of a violent storm, which their small vessel seemed ill-equipped to handle. Unsure what to do, the crew looked around for their leader, only to find that he was still soundly asleep. Incredulous, they woke him up.
