To one of God's appointed fared
I, sore oppressed, beguiled
By sense. And there I softly heard,
You are God's perfect child!
The words came clear, so firmly said,
As from a sky of blue—
True manna to a hungering heart:
God's perfect child are you!
Why, never once had even those
Who loved me truly done
A thing like this! My heart arose:
You are God's perfect son!
Oh, blessed news, O Father mine,
To stop the earth winds wild!
All-powered voice of Truth divine:
You are God's perfect child!
