DESIRE

From the February 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

O Life that knows no death,
O Truth that knows no pain,
Come, flood my fearful, anxious thought.
And make me whole again.

O Love that knows no hate,
To stainless purity
Cleanse now this doubting, sinning heart;
Open my eyes to see

The perfect child of God,
Joyful, triumphant, strong!
Eternally attached to good,
Incapable of wrong.

Not for myself alone,
This healing truth I'd know;
Since God's impartial, boundless love
To all mankind doth flow.
