TRUTH LEADS

From the February 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

O child of God, thou knowest well
Truth leads the way,
And thou canst follow joyously,
Yea, day by day.

The angels of God's presence are
Forever near.
Their voices gentle, tender, strong
Dispel all fear.

No human hurt or aching heart
Can hinder thee;
The Saviour's call is ever clear:
Come follow me!

He bids thee tend thy brother's wounds
And bind them up,
Gently to pour the healing oil
From Love's own cup.

He tells thee thou must love thy God
In truth and deed,
And prove thy love by meeting now
Thy brother's need.

Although along the way there seems
Some cross to bear,
The Father crowns thee with: Well done,
Love's faithful heir!
