JUST WHERE I AM

From the October 1935 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Instead of wishing for another sphere
In which to work and live,
Help me to know that Thou art always near,
The heavenly vision give,
Just where I am.

Instead of hoping for some greater work
On which to prove my skill,
Help me to do each smallest menial task
With consecrated will,
Just where I am.

Instead of longing for some other friends
Than those I now possess,
Help me to see these are the very ones
That I can help and bless,
Just where I am.

Help me to look to Thee in every need.
Sphere, work, and loving friends
All come from God, for man, in fullest meed.
And these are mine to take,
Just where I am.
