BRAVE HEARTS SHALL SING

From the August 1945 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Only the heart can truly sing that sees
Beyond what may have been some cutting blow;
Only the heart that lifts itself, and frees
Itself, can see such things as nought, and know
They are no plan of God's—and knowing good,
See evil as unreal. These hearts are brave,
And ever strong; fearless and calm, they've stood
Each test and known the power of Truth to save.

When it is sought in deep humility,
Each one may know the healing power of Mind;
Each one may prove that man is truly free,
And, serving God, he more and more shall find
His real, true self revealed. These hearts shall sing,
And higher soar, borne on the Father's wing.
