Poems

Inevitability

From the April 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As surely as the dawn will break
after the darkest night;
As surely as the birds will sing
before the morning's light;
As surely as the buds unfold
before the flowers appear,
So healing is inevitable
when Love has conquered fear.

To him who sees the angel host
upon the mountainside;
To him who sees the well of water
when tears of self are dried;
To him who thanks God first of all
and waits not for the light,
Shall surely come the healing sign,
the proof, that all is right.
