Poems

The Messiah

From the December 1950 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The young lambs
Must not stray far,
For wolves are waiting;
Their very tenderness makes them
Easy prey to the ruthless
Animal appetite.

The Master
Carried the lambs in his bosom.
Our tender thought,
Dazzled by Truth's new brightness.
Uncertain, but growing like morning
With young light,
He will gently lead.
