PERSEVERING WITH RIGHT CONVICTIONS

From the July 1961 issue of The Christian Science Journal

RIGHT convictions are born of spiritual understanding. One may learn how to persevere in following right convictions in Christian Science.

To acquire a complete understanding of God, man, and the universe is the acme of spiritual learning. Jesus, who demonstrated this spiritual ideal, spoke of it as knowing the truth. To know the truth as he did and to apply it in everyday living is one's highest achievement, bringing liberation from the bondage of material beliefs.

Before a Christian Scientist can make effective use of the spiritual understanding he has acquired to date, there is the all important area of conviction to be considered, the absolute certainty that the knowledge he is gaining is the fundamental truth of being and, when put to the acid test, will produce the promised freedom.
