Heralding Church

From the January 1968 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The writer of Hebrews heralded a Christian fellowship that would bring men confident expectancy of blessings in Zion. He described their experience in part as being welcomed "to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect."Hebr. 12:23;

What specifically will be required of us if we sincerely take into account this Scriptural representation of the Christian community as we work to further the appeal of the Church of Christ, Scientist, among men?

As we view our church's mission to mankind today, we see that the incisive definition of "Church" in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, comprises vastly more than a rule of thumb.
