God Works in Us

From the April 1970 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christ Jesus declared, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." John 14:10; The great Teacher knew that power to heal belongs to God, to Spirit, Mind, and so is infinite and equal to any demand. When Jesus healed the deaf, the blind, the sick, the sinner, he was letting God control his consciousness, work in him, do His will there.

Paul understood this way of healing, and when he wrote to the Philippians that they should work out their own salvation, he added these comforting words: "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." Phil. 2:13;

Either divine Mind or its opposite, mortal mind, is working in us every moment. And our bodies, our environment, our experiences, give evidence of what we are letting govern our thoughts. Christian Science reveals God as working ceaselessly in His own offspring, causing them to express His intelligence and love in perfect Christliness and health. This is the order of real being, the fact. This divine order is also the law that is applicable to solve every human problem.
