You Can Write for This Magazine!

From the May 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For those who need help in writing for the Christian Science periodicals, the Editors have prepared a pamphlet, "Your Guide to Writing for the Christian Science Periodicals." This pamphlet explains the mechanics of writing for our publications. It tells us how to submit an article or poem or testimony. Our own experiences and spiritual growth tell us what to write.

The motive that genuinely inspires us to write is love for God and mankind. This love silences the argument "Who? Me? I don't have time!" or "I've never learned to write!" Our love outweighs the sense of being too busy or unqualified.

We will feel more confident we can contribute to our publications as we see that the opportunity and ability to write come from our understanding of divine Mind and that we reflect Mind. Then we will become receptive to inspiration telling us when and what to write. If we are truly guided by divine Mind's inspiration, we will not allow human pride to obstruct the when or the what. The egotism of self-will and self-depreciation will be replaced with humility. As we willingly respond to the ideas that divine Mind is constantly imparting, our writing will come forth in a needed, fresh, healing presentation.
