Lesson from the ark

From the September 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Noah had problems, too;
his righteousness, so precious to the Lord,
stood by itself
where blasphemy, corruption, greed,
were rampant.

Till inspiration touched that righteousness,
and formed it, through precise obedience,
into a place of safety
for all living things.

Throughout all time right thinking such as Noah's
finds consciousness expanding
to include completeness—
male and female of each species.

It brings the family of man inside
and shuts the door
against destruction's flood
(for always blasphemy, corruption, greed, in any form,
destroy themselves).

Assured that all within are now secure,
uplifted confidence rides out the turmoil
and finds a rainbow.
