The Bible Lesson

From the March 1988 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Invited to the feast each day,
some guests may still
be hesitant.
"It's hard to understand."
"But am I worthy?" and
"There isn't time for trust in God."

Prayer to be humble, to partake,
unlocks remembrance
of our Lord's unqualified
"Come unto me, all ye that labour "

Then that Christly love
dissolves resistance,
and like children waking early
with the sun, we answer:
"Father, we are on our way.
Thank you for asking us."
