ENCIRCLING THE GLOBE

From the December 1989 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The membership of the Christian Science Society in Jerusalem comes from several groups of people: Palestinians, Israelis, and international expatriates. This is significant; all of these people are working together harmoniously in our society.

The society, recently recognized as a branch of The Mother Church, gave its first lecture in May 1989. The title of the lecture was "What It Is: An Informative Lecture on Christian Science." There were thirty to forty people present, including members and inquirers. A former mayor of Jerusalem also attended. The lecture was held in the YMCA in East Jerusalem.
