Midnight ministry

From the March 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Last night, I had a great need,
and the pastor came at my call.
But not from a far-off pulpit
did my pastor enter
in the midnight hour.
My pastor arrived gently
through the pages of two books."In 1895 1 ordained that the Bible, and 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,' the Christian Science textbook, be the pastor, on this planet, of all the churches of the Christian Science denomination." Mary Baker Eddy, Miscellaneous Writings, pp. 382-383.
I read the Word/felt the tender might:
Saw God more clearly
as Father-Mother;
saw myself more dearly
as beloved child of Love.

Last night, I had a great need—
and I was healed.
Thank you, dear pastor.
