Letters

From the June 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It was thrilling to read about Elizabeth Pond’s experience in Cambodia (“Sanctuary in Captivity,” April Journal, p. 48). That she could keep terror at bay and maintain her strong faith was a marvelous accomplishment. This is an inspiration.

It is only fair to say that her colleagues at The Christian Science Monitor were all praying for her very earnestly. Church members prayed, too. She doubtless knew this, which in no way diminishes the potency of her own pure faith.

Many people today pray for world peace and we can trust in answered prayer. The need is great. We can all help.
