A flame that never burns out

- Christian Science Nurse Notes

Me? Burned out? I really didn’t think so. Yet I couldn’t shake a dreary feeling that kept coming to me, suggesting that my work as a Christian Science nurse was mere routine and repetition. 

Oh sure, I experienced wonderfully uplifting moments of Christly inspiration as I cared for patients. My heart genuinely overflowed with gratitude to be in God’s service to His children. But I longed for greater opportunities to share Christian Science with others.

I had fallen into the habit of thinking that my career as a Christian Science nurse was meant to be spent quietly working behind the scenes as I diligently cared for individuals. There was no time for introducing new people to the healing Christ and Christian Science—or so I thought.
