Reading Notices

From the December 1885 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We take pleasure in calling public attention to the advertisement of Ward & Gay, 178 to 184 Devonshire Street. No one can complain of prices who becomes familiar with their schedule; and what more acceptable present can be made than to furnish a friend's desk with all its appointments? You can do it all at this store, reasonably and elegantly.

Go into Huyler's, on West Street, for Confectionery. Look at those lovely boxes of every description which he has all ready for the sweetmeats. They are dainty, artistic and ornamental. His soda-fountain is a model, in the delicacy of its essences. Good candy is better than poor, even if it costs more, although Huyler's prices compare favorably with other places of less worth.
