Christian Science Journal:—About one year ago, when my little boy was about one month old, I was taken down sick with what the Drs called gastric fever. I had fearful distress at times. I tried three or four different Drs. without any benefit at all. Got so I could not eat three mouthfuls a day. I lived for ten days wholly on injections in the bowels of nourishing broths, in the hope that after my stomach got rested it would bear a little food at a time. However, I was no better than before. I got so that I had to take laudanum after eating a few mouthfuls. I had never heard much about the C. S. method of cure. I knew of one of my friends (who is now a Scientist,) who was cured this way, so I thought I would write her. After the first treatment, I got up and dressed myself (the day before could hardly turn myself without help), sat down to the table and eat whatever there was on the table and all I wanted, and so on for four days, without any of my old symptoms appearing, felt the best I ever did in my life. But not having the help around me and the encouragement I should have had, I did have some trials for a while; but since reading Science and Health and understanding more about this way of cure, I am perfectly well, can eat anything, and work all I want to.
