From the August 1886 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear Sister: I must tell you the glorious news. On Monday Hiram seemed very ill, but at seven o'clock there came a change, and he began to improve. Almost instantaneously, all pain left the foot. He seemed like a different man, and said, "Praise the Lord forever and ever. Your prayers are heard." He dressed himself Wednesday, and took a street-car ride Thursday, and a buggy-drive Friday. He had his hair cut on Saturday, has no pain in his foot, and his appetite is better than I have ever known it to be. He is really growing fat. We believe fully that it is the power of the dear Lord. We cannot doubt any longer. We can never forget from whence this great deliverance and happiness have come.

I will do all in my power to spread this great truth to others, and to help them while struggling through this dream of life. It is indeed a beautiful truth that can turn such despair into gladness. We shall be ever grateful to you and to Christian Science.
