Hiram's throat has at last healed entirely. It is not sore any more, and his voice is returning strong and clear. I cannot tell you what a great joy this is to us; for no one thought it possible that he could ever speak distinctly, with the palate and so much of the tissue of the throat gone. We had the best physicians, far and near, but we will thank the dear Eternal Father forever and ever. I am doing all I can to spread this beautiful truth. I trust it will be known and practised throughout the world. Dear Hiram has confessed Christ, and has been confirmed in the church. He says he will praise God by giving up the rest of his life to the cause of Christian Science.
Dear Sister B.: After so much joy, we are again in despair. I think Hiram walked on his foot too long and too often. It began to swell and pain him very much. The Doctor says he thinks the bone diseased, and that Hiram may have to lose his foot. Pray that this cup may pass from us.
