"MINE OWN COUNTRY."

"Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country." 1 Kings. 11: 21, 22.

Thus said Hadad, the Edomite, even while enjoying all the preferment of the sensuous court of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. He had suddenly become aware that he was in an alien country, and his soul yearned for his own birthright,— the dominion of his rightful realm.

"Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country?"
