HYMN

From the September 1897 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"God is not moved by breath of praise,"
Honest must be our call.
Test Thou our life in all its ways,—
Thou comprehendest all.

Unspoken thoughts to Thee are known,
Our open fount is there.
God, not my will, but Thine, be done;
Fervent desire is prayer.

No loss obtains in trusting Thee,
Mute prayer has its rewards.
Our actions speak our gratitude,—
Good deeds are more than words.

We consecrate our life to Thee,
Each motive pure install.
So will Thy Love reflected be
In us,— Thou source of all.
