The Rev. Dr. Chandler A. Oakes has asked to be dismissed from the Dutch Reformed denomination. For some time he has had grave doubts regarding certain religious beliefs contained in the tenets of the church. In compliance with his ordination pledge, he has refrained from making these doubts known from the pulpit, but now that he has confessed them all to classis in the communication below, he feels that he is at liberty to preach the truth as he interprets it:—
